Prolinnova–Kenya (PK), in collaboration with World Neighbors and Inades Formation Kenya, celebrated a Farmer innovation Fair that was hosted by the Makueni Local Steering Committee on 23 February 2019 at Kasikeu Market. The event was graced by 192 participants and seven organisations, both governmental and non-governmental. Under the day’s theme, “Creating opportunities through farmer-led innovations”, the fair aimed at bringing diverse stakeholders together to share experience and knowledge in farmer-led research as well as sensitising the public on promoting local innovation and participatory innovation development processes as an approach to enhance food and nutrition security. Innovators from the Makueni and Kisumu action-learning sites showcased 14 local innovations they had developed themselves. The guest of honour, the Hon. Julius Munari, the area’s Member of County Assembly, presided over the event and awarded a certificate of recognition to each of the 14 innovators.
