The international magazine Appropriate Technology (www.appropriate-technology.com) has published two articles about Prolinnova activities in southern Africa:
- Rural women in Mozambique innovate to restore their landscape, by Romuald Rutazihana, Domingos Tsucane, Gilda Fafitine & Jacob Wanyama in Appropriate Technology 50 (3): 42–44
- Observing local innovation in Swayimane, South Africa, by Mzo Mndali, Thabo Makhubedu & Brigid Letty in Appropriate Technology 50 (3): 45–46
These appeared in the September 2023 issue of the magazine, now in its 50th year, which is published by Research Information Ltd in the United Kingdom under the publishing director Ras Patel. With this issue, the new editorial board – made up of Andy Crump, Emilio Velis and Andrew Lamb – has taken over from the previous editor, Colin Ley. For many years, the magazine has provided space for Prolinnova articles to put a spotlight on the initiatives of small-scale farmers and their communities to experiment and innovate in agroecology and natural resource management – either on their own or in collaboration with local research and development actors – in order to develop site-appropriate improvements in their farming systems.
We thank Colin for his support over the past four years and look forward to working with the new editorial team of Appropriate Technology.
