Year 1 report “Expanding promotion of Local Innovation for Food and Nutrition Security” (ELI-FaNS)

The Misereor-funded project “Expanding the promotion of local innovation for food security and healthy nutrition to strengthen resilience, with focus on women” (ELI-FaNS, 2023–25) is a follow-on project to SULCI-FaNS (Scaling Up Local Capacity to Innovate in Food and Nutrition Security: 2019–22). Field-level activities are underway in ten action-learning sites facilitated by five Country Platforms, namely in Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa. The focus is on promoting farmer-led participatory innovation in production, processing, marketing and consumption of crop and/or livestock products. The results from the field activities will be packaged as evidence to engage with stakeholders in policy dialogue to institutionalise the participatory innovation development (PID) approach within research, academia and agricultural advisory services. The report on Year 1 (2023) can be found here.
