Tropentag 2012: Prolinnova cases from Ethiopia & Niger

Some of the work of Prolinnova partners was presented at the Tropentag, the largest conference in Europe on research for food security, NRM and rural development in the tropics and subtropics, on 19-21 September 2012 in Germany. The Tropentag was hosted this year jointly by the Universities of Göttingen and Kassel/Witzenhausen and focused on the theme “Resilience of agricultural systems against crises”. One Prolinnova presentation was on strengthening local adaptive capacity through promoting local innovation, with examples from Niger and Ethiopia (paper). Another was on institutionalising Participatory Innovation Development (PID) in agricultural extension in northern Ethiopia (poster, paper). Both were presented in the session on “Knowledge, learning and extension”. All abstracts and papers for Tropentag 2012 can be found here
