On 30 April 2025, Prolinnova was invited by APAARI (Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions) to participate in this webinar organised by APAARI’s community of practice (CoP) on public private partnerships (PPPs).
The objectives of the CoP on PPPs are to:
- Facilitate dialogue & trust-building: creating a neutral space for stakeholders to discuss challenges, expectations and opportunities
- Identify & address policy barriers: highlighting and resolving policy constraints to improve the business environment
- Promote innovation & investment: fostering collaboration on technology, digital solutions and sustainable practices
- Capacity building: offer webinars and case studies to enhance stakeholder knowledge
- Strengthen collaboration & policy advocacy: develop joint policy recommendations for agricultural trade advancement.
This initiative currently focuses on Bangladesh, where APAARI, with the support of the Standards and Trade Development Facility of Bangladesh, is implementing projects. The broader vision is to expand this CoP into a regional platform to promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the Asia-Pacific region. It in this context that Prolinnova was invited to the webinar. Chesha Wettasinha of Prolinnova’s International Support Team took part in the webinar.
The keynote address was made by Mohammad Sakib Khaled, Senior Manager, Portfolio Development, Swisscontact Bangladesh. Thereafter, panellists from four Bangladeshi organisations, governmental and nongovernmental, shared their perspectives on the topic followed by Q&A after each panelist’s presentation. More than 50 people attended the webinar and participated actively, sharing experiences and learning from each other.
