Continuation of the Participatory Innovation Development (PID) approach will depend on learning by younger generations who will enter into work in agricultural research and development institutions. Prolinnova partners at country level are therefore linking with universities and colleges to involve students and young researchers in PID processes and give them opportunities to learn also through practice.
The Prolinnova network has started a series of webinars for members of the Prolinnova Community of Practice to share experiences and lessons learnt in their efforts to integrate PID into universities and research institutes. The first webinar, held on 19 April 2023, focused on sharing experiences of Prolinnova Country Platforms (CPs) in collaborating with university and research actors to put the concept of PID into practice within ongoing processes of community development. The CPs in Burkina Faso, Kenya, Nepal, South Africa and the UK presented cases from their work. A blog and a report on the webinar will soon be posted here.
A short summary about the webinar is available here:https://prolinnova.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Summary-for-Prolinnova-Webinar-1.pdf
The 2nd webinar in this series will be on 16 August 2023 (see “Upcoming Events”).
