For professionals in two universities in Sudan and South Sudan, Nuffic (Netherlands) is supporting tailor-made training in farmer-led participatory innovation development (PID), an approach that puts small-scale farmers at the centre of the research and development process.
In order to facilitate practical learning about PID, the trainees were hosted by Prolinnova–Kenya to visit its Kisumu action-learning site in Western Kenya. In late November 2021, the visitors met several local innovative farmers as well as other stakeholders supporting the innovators, at both local and national level. This 14-page report covers the week-long study visit, including a radio talk show and a television interview, and also includes feedback from the participants and some observations by the Kenyan facilitators of the visit.
