Starting up CLIC-SR

The four Prolinnova Country Platforms in Eastern Africa that are collaborating in the regional project CLIC-SR (Combining LocalInnovative Capacity with Scientific Research: Strengthening Resilience to Change), funded by Rockefeller Foundation, are in the midst of their start-up activities. These involve field studies of local perceptions of major externally induced changes, including climate change, and documentation of local initiatives in responding to these changes. The studies are being made in two districts in each country. The country teams are also reviewing experiences in influencing policy to favour smallholder-led participatory research and development as a basis for drawing up their country-specific strategies for policy dialogue within the CLIC-SR project.
