Prolinnova was invited to share its experiences at the 22nd European Seminar on Extension and Education which took place from 28 April to 1 May 2015 in Wageningen, the Netherlands.
Members of the International Support Team (IST) and the Country Platforms of Ethiopia and Kenya joined hands in preparing a paper “Facilitating extensionists to learn by doing in promoting local innovation”. Chesha Wettasinha of the IST presented this paper at the seminar and shared Prolinnova’s experiences in building the capacity of extension agents in participatory innovation development. Chesha was also invited to be a panelist at a session hosted by the FAO to present “The State of the Food and Agriculture 2014” report on innovation in family farming. Chesha contributed to the discussion with inputs from Prolinnova as a CSO-led network on promoting smallholder innovation in agricultural research and development.
