The Prolinnova International Partners Workshop (IPW) in 2013 was hosted in the final week of May 2013 by Prolinnova-Kenya. Part of the IPW 2013 programme was devoted to sharing experiences on strengthening community resilience to (climate and other) change, e.g. from the new Prolinnova initiatives on this in Asia (LINEX-CCA) and East Africa (CLIC-SR). The Prolinnova Oversight Group (POG) also met in this week.
The workshop was co-coordinated by Wim Hiemstra (ETC Foundation / Prolinnova International Secretariat), Marise Espineli (International Institute of Rural Reconstruction, IIRR) and Violet Kirigua (KARI). As there are no unrestricted funds available at the level of the Prolinnova International Secretariat to sponsor participation in the IPW, participants covered the costs of travel and accommodation from their country-level projects, from locally acquired resources or through CCAFS-supported sponsorship for participation in the AISA workshop. The IPW report can be found here.
Immediately following – indeed partly parallel to – the IPW, the 2-day East Africa Farmer Innovation Fair (EAFIF) and the international workshop on Agricultural Innovation Systems in Africa (AISA) were held. For more information on all these events, see http://aisa2013.wikispaces.com
Plans are now being made for the next IPW, which will be hosted by Prolinnova-Cambodia in mid-May 2014.
