New chair of Prolinnova–Ghana Steering Committee

After the untimely death of Naaminong Karbo, who had capably and passionately chaired the National Steering Committee (NSC) of Prolinnova–Ghana for several years, a new NSC chair was installed in November 2022. He is George Owusu Essegbey, formerly the director of the Science & Technology Policy Research Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR-STEPRI). He is now a freelance consultant.

George is the President of the African Network for Economics of Learning, Innovation & Competence-Building Systems (AfricaLics). He has several years of experience in science and technology policy research, innovation studies, climate change and sustainable agriculture. He holds a PhD in Development Studies (University of Cape Coast). He had served in the Prolinnova–Ghana NSC for three years before being elected to replace Karbo.
