Mitiku Haile, founder of and professor at Mekelle University, Ethiopia – and a very early member of the Prolinnova network, still a member to this day – has been awarded the 2021 World Agriculture Prize by the Global Confederation of Higher Education Associations for Agricultural and Life Sciences (GCHERA).
Mitiku has been active in incorporating participatory approaches into agricultural education, as documented in a couple of papers on the Prolinnova website:
