The international magazine Appropriate Technology (www.appropriate-technology.com) has published two articles about Prolinnova activities in promoting local innovation processes in West Africa:
- Competition for farmer innovators in managing water in Burkina Faso, by Hamadé Sigué, Augustin Ouédraogo, Kouété Paul Jimmy & Ann Waters-Bayer, in Appropriate Technology 50 (4): 50–52, including a box “Woman farmer’s innovation: growing aubergines in furrows” (p. 52) – French translation: Compétition pour les paysans innovateurs dans la gestion de l’eau au Burkina Faso
- Zanguga community in Ghana innovates to restore “Kundunvori” biodiversity, by Issifu Sulemana, Joseph Nchor & Samuel Ayamga, in Appropriate Technology 50 (4): 53–55.
These articles appeared in the December 2023 issue of the magazine, now in its 50th year, which is published by Research Information Ltd in the United Kingdom. Since many years, the magazine has been providing space for Prolinnova to showcase the initiatives of small-scale farmers and farmer groups to experiment and innovate in agroecology and natural resource management – either on their own or in collaboration with local research and development actors – in order to develop site-appropriate improvements in their land-use systems.
