The Misereor-funded Ethnovet Project – Promoting Ethnoveterinary Medicine for Sustainable Animal Husbandry Practices in Northern Ghana – has completed its second of three years of operation (2019–22). This second annual progress report (Oct 2020 – Sept 2021) describes the activities implemented and outputs achieved in Year 2. These included: literature review on ethnobotanicals and phytochemical properties of plants used for herbal preparations; clinical/on-farm trials on Newcastle disease of poultry, keet mortality and African swine fever; training of ethnovet practitioners in sustainable exploitation, conservation and propagation of medicinal plants; documentation of their ethnovet knowledge and innovations; and setting up district ethnovet networks in four districts in northern Ghana.
