The International Farmer Innovation Day under the auspices of the international Prolinnova network creates awareness of farmers’ own innovation efforts to adapt to a continuously changing environment and shows how research and extension staff – private and government – can interact and support this through farmer-led joint experimentation and learning, that is to say, through Participatory Innovation Development (PID).
The first International Farmer Innovation Day was celebrated on Thursday, 29 November 2012, when several Prolinnova Country Programmes organised different types of activities as appropriate in their respective countries.
