The 2008 Prolinnova International Partners Meeting has just been completed in Tamale, Ghana. The meeting brought together 33 advocates of participatory innovation development (PID) from 22 countries including farmers, NGOs, and staff of government ministries and extension agencies, research organizations and universities. The meeting extensively discussed experiences in the various countries with participatory innovation development, formulated lessons learnt and mapped out strategies to strengthen this important component in the Prolinnova programme. The Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture presented the key note address during the opening session confirming his support for PID. He later joined other guests and invitees including the Regional Minister for Northern Ghana in visiting the information market showing the work done in the various Prolinnova countries.

Drafts of PID Case Studies Uploaded PDF Print E-mail

Eight draft PID case studies, from Ethiopia, Ghana North and South, Nepal (2), Niger, Uganda and South Africa have been placed on this (IPM section of the Prolinnova web site) site. These are important inputs for the presentations and discussions on the second day of the IPM in Ghana.
 
Note that these papers are in various stages of development. Several authors are working on next drafts based on comments received so far and will bring improved versions to the meeting. Other countries have promised papers and we will post them here and inform you as soon as they are available.

As we are getting closer to the LISF Writeshop and the Int'l Partners' Meeting in Ghana, the following information and documents are available for the guidance and perusal of participants to the LISF Writeshop.

Proposed Dates for the LISF Writeshop: March 27 (after lunch) to March 30 (after lunch). Refer to the (draft) programme / schedule in the Schedules and Logistics sub-section in the Documents section.

Papers and Contributions

The following draft Country LISF papers and contributions are already available: Ethiopia, Uganda, South Africa. They can be found at the Content Papers and Contributions sub-section on the Documents section. These are still being worked on and improved versions will be made available soon.

Prolinnova IPM 2008 Announcement PDF Print E-mail

This year's Prolinnova International Partners' Meeting (IPM)  workshop will take place from 30 March – 4 April in Tamale, Ghana. This will allow participants to visit PID on the field, and provide inputs for learning and sharing based on concrete country experiences. The workshop will be hosted by the National Steering Committee of the Prolinnova-Ghana programme, which has entrusted the actual hosting to a partner organisation in Tamale: The Association of Church-based Development Programmes (ACDEP). The Prolinnova International Secretariat at ETC Ecoculture, Leusden, Netherlands, will be responsible for facilitation and documentation. It will prepare and organise the event in close collaboration with the Ghanean hosts and the other country programmes. 

The (nine) existing country programmes will send two participants each: the country coordinator and one representative of a member organisation actively involved in PID– preferably representing a different stakeholder group. The new countries will send one representative each. Key resource persons on the chosen topics and from related networks or initiatives will also be invited.  Several members of the IST will take part while POG members will, as stated above, join the workshop to and hold their own meeting immediately before or after the workshop The total number of participants is expected to be a maximum of 40 people.

This website is intended to provide news, information, documents and other relevant materials in preparation for the 2008 Prolinnova Int'l Partners Meeting.
